Happy Birthday!!

Happy birthday to my wonderful sister-in-law.  We celebrated her birthday last night.  It was supposed to be celebrated on Saturday, unfortunately she got the flu :(  At least we got to celebrate last night with some yummy chinese food and great company. :)  Here is what i made for her.  I am really excited about how it turned out, and to be able to share it with you :)  This was actually cased from Crystal  and she has a tutorial you can follow as well to see how it was put together.

For this gift card holder i used whisper white and pumpkin pie cardstock and wild wasabi, pumpkin pie, summer sun, pink pirouette and basic brown for the ink.  I also used the greenhouse gala dsp.  For stamps i used Afterthoughts, Well Scripted and Eastern Blooms.

I used the modern label to punch out where the card fits in (although if i had it i would have used the word window punch) and the decorative label punch on the front.

I added some green satin ribbon to hold it all together.  I hope you enjoy making it as much as i did.  P.S.  The birthday girl was pretty impressed as well :)

Christmas Card Class Sneak Preview

I am hosting a Christmas Card class on Dec 8 and here is one of the 5 cards the ladies will be making. :)  It is similar to a swap i had posted on here a little while ago, but with a few changes. :)  I used Real Red, Old Olive and Chocolate Chip cardstock.  The same colors for ink plus Blush Blossom and Pretty in Pink.  I used Merry Moments Dsp and the stamps are All Holidays and Jolly Old Saint Nick.  I used the Snowflake punch and the Decorative Label punch and added a glimmer brad :)

Wow..what a busy time of year this is :)

I have been busy making christmas cards and even a few birthday cards.  My husband's birthday was in November and here is the card I created for him.  I really like the stamp set :)  For this card i used Close to Cocoa, Peach Parfait and Whisper White cardstock.  I used the same colors plus Poppy Parade and Elegant Eggplant for the ink.  The stamp set is called Sweet Scoops from last years summer mini.  I added some close to cocoa ribbon and some orange brads i had from michael's.  I really like how it turned out; plain, yet cute :)

Happy Halloween!!!

So i wanted to do something a little special for my nephews and some friends kids, so here is what i came up with. :)  I have one more little witch to do and then i can give them out on sunday :)  For these tags i used perfect plum, pumpkin pie, basic black and very vanilla cardstock with the Fang-Tastic stamp set.  I think they turned out really cute.  I used the small cello bags and the oval punch.  The tag punch and square and the ribbon are not stampin' up products unfortunately.  The punches are creative memories and the ribbon was from a dollar store or something like that. oh well, you have to work with what you have.  Happy Halloween everyone!!!

New Holiday Promotion

Please see my side bar for the downloadable version and information on the Holiday Bundle Promotion.

Changes

Wow there is going to be a lot of changes coming in the near future.  I am going to be very very busy.  We finally finished all the renos in the house and put it up for sale yesterday and we sold it last night..I am feeling a little overwhelmed seeing as this was the first house i ever owned. yikes!  Now we have 1 month to find another place to live or we will be living with the in-laws for a bit.

Also during all of this, I am supposed to be studying for an exam and making as many cards as I can for a craft sale..  So many things to do, so little time to do it..

Peyton is growing up so fast too..She is so close to crawling already and she is only 5 1/2 months old..she is such a smart little girl.  I wonder how her, our cats and our dog are going to take the move??  Well hopefully we find the house we love and can get into before the possession date on this one, if not at least we have a place to go. :)

Swaps are here!!

I was recently involved in a swap for the new holiday mini catty and here is the card that i came up with. I used pear pizzazz and poppy parade for the ink and the cardstock and a cute christmas (wood #120825 or clear #121133) for the stamp set.  I used some crystal effects (#101055) on the trees to make them pop.  I also used the designer label (#119862) and modern label (#119849) punches.  The final touch was the real red 1/8" taffeta ribbon (119251) tied in a bow.  I will be posting the swaps very soon, so stay tuned :)

Happy Wedding day!

I made this card at the last minute, of course.  ha ha..anyway i like the idea of it, but also think i could probably do something to improve it a bit.  My favorite part is the paper rose :)  i wanted to do a bouquet of them, but i would have to make them a lot smaller for that.  This card was made with real red, basic black and whisper white.  The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes #115370 and was stamped in craft whisper white ink.  Everything is SU except the rhinestones, brad and the embossing folder, Divine Swirls.  The second picture i tried to get a good picture of the flower.  My upline Julie has a tutorial for making them.

A Mix of things

I have been making all kinds of cards and these cute purses to give to some people at my work.  Unfortunately, i totally forgot to take pictures so i asked one of the ladies to take some.  So for the purses i used the top note die and the scallop die and cut a 3 3/4 in circle of dsp with the circle cutter.  For the first purse on the left i used old olive and pumpkin pie cardstock and Island Oasis dsp.  I decorated it with the Tropical Party Stamp set (clear #120081 or wood #118515) and the birthday sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes #115370.  I also used the scallop oval and oval punches.  The final touch was the certainly celery ribbon for the handle.  For a full tutorial please see this blog.  The purse on the right i used so saffron cardstock and shades of Spring dsp for the purse and pixie pink cardstock for the flower.  I used the scallop oval punch and the perfect punches stamp set (clear #120516 and wood #117022).  I also used the 5-petal flower punch to make the flower and the boho blossoms punch and clear brad to finish it off.  The card was made with chocolate chip, crushed curry, garden green and very vanilla cardstock.  I used the square lattice embossing folder for the crushed curry and stamped the sentiment with Pun Fun #115054 in chocolate chip and finished the card with certainly celery ribbon.  The picture on the bottom is what my husband made to give out as thank you cards.

Happy Birthday Tri-Fold

I thought i would add this one on here as well as i just love these tri-fold cards.  I had made this one for my mom before we actually made the card in the class I spoke of in my last post.  For the tutorial click here.

Happy Birthday

This is a card that i made at a class i was in, so i definitely can't take the credit for creating it.  I really love the tri-fold on this card though. The colors if i remember correctly were almost amethyst, old olive and so saffron.  I used the Flight of the Butterfly stamp set #111564 and the sentiment was from Well Scripted.  I used the Butterfly punch #119848 for the butterflies and added some rhinestones (these were from walmart).  For a tutorial of this card, please see here.  Another thing i really like about this card is that there are so many places to decorate and embellish.  This card could have so much more added to it, but i kind of like it the way it is.

With Sympathy

I am saddened that I had to make this card in the first place, but i like that way it turned out; simple and understated.  I used the new in color, concord crush, and very vanilla cardstock.  The peacock and sentiment were stamped in concord crush ink, and i added an ivory colored ribbon.  The sentiment was from Teeny Tiny Wishes #115370 and the peacock was from Very Thankful.  I also used the scallop trim border #118402.

Bridal Shower

So i haven't given this card out yet, so hopefully she doesn't see it here before she gets it. ha ha..I made this card for a very dear friend that is getting married in a couple of weeks and her shower is this saturday :) I am so happy for her!!!  On this card i used kraft (now crumb cake) and bermuda bay (retired) cardstock.  I am so sad that berumda bay is retired, I really liked this color.  I used a cuttlebug embossing folder called swirls and the ribbon was from walmart.  I used the modern label #119849 and 5-petal flower #119880 punches.  I stamped some tissue paper with the itty bitty backgrounds stamp set (retired) in bermuda bay.  The sentiment is from teeny tiny wishes #115370.  I used a brad from SU and the rhinestones from walmart.  I hope she likes it because I am really excited about how it turned out :)

Baby Girl

I have been busy making more baby cards.  All my friends seem to be having babies, which is great and it gave me a chance to use the new stamp set Baby Bundle #120576 for clear or #118525 for wood a couple of times so far. :)  I love this stamp set it is so cute.  For this card i used certain celery cardstock,  kraft (which is now called crumb cake), and cameo coral (retired).  The punches were the pinking hearts border #117649 and the scallop oval XL #119856.  The ink i used was basic brown, cameo coral and versamark.

Thank You

I saw this card in the new summer mini and decided i had to make it.  Since i just had a baby a little over 7 weeks ago, i am in need of a few thank you cards, and I thought this would be perfect to thank my office for the lovely flower arrangement they sent me.  Now to just get it to them. :)  I used ruby red, pumpkin pie, old olive, summer sun, tempting turquoise and whisper white card stock.  I stamped the sentiment in old olive and the dotted line in ruby red.  The sentiment is from the All Holidays set (#114916).  The buttons were ones i got from a yard sale (ha ha) and the rhinestones came from walmart.  The clear brad is from SU (#113144).

Happy Father's Day

I made this card for my FIL for father's day.  Everything is SU except the brad which came from Michael's.  The cardstock used was brilliant blue, only orange, gable green, yoyo yellow and whisper white.  I cut the orange out with my scissors and used the scallop oval and the large oval punches and the large and small star punches.  I used a white gel pen to make the stitching.  This card was based on a card found in the 2009-2010 idea book and catalogue.

Baby Girl

I made this baby card a while back for a friend.  I used pixie pink cardstock and welcome neighbour dsp from SU as well as the pretty in pink epoxy brad, the scallop border punch, and the stamp sets Little Angel and Love Bug. The ribbon and flower were from Michael's.

My baby girl!

One of her outfits she got at her first shower, and a hot day to wear it on. yay!  5 weeks old here

Baby Boy

I made this card for a friend of mine, and finally was able to give it to her on wednesday.  I was only a few months late.. yikes!  The ribbon and brads are from Michael's and the stamps, paper, cardstock and punch are from SU.

Happy Birthday!

My very first post on my blog. :) This is a birthday card I made quite a while ago, that i really liked. I used the SU butterfly embossilts die
for the butterflies and curvy verses for the sentiment. The paper is pink passion (soon to be retired) and whisper white cardstock.
