Scrapbooking Retreat

Last weekend I went to a scrapbooking retreat with my MIL and i had such a wonderful time.  It is so nice to get away and do some crafting and socialize. :)  I love my family, but I like a little me time. :)  I wanted to try an explosion box while i was there and decided it would be perfect for a mother's day/Birthday gift for my mom.  Her birthday is Apr 20 and I won't see her til my little's girl's 1st birthday on May 1st, so i thought i could do something that was good for both.  Here is my the box i made.

unfortunately i didn't have any SU dsp with me, so i used what i had, but the cardstock is old olive, pacific point and real red.  The ribbon is all SU, and most of the embellishments are as well.  I really like how it turned out.

March Card Class

Here are the cards and project we made in March :)  All of these cards and the box were cases with slight alterations...

The shamrock was coated in crystal effects to prevent the glitter from falling off and to give it a bit of a different look :)
This card was made using the bleach effect.
I cased this card from the occasions mini with slightly different colors.
This box holds A2 cards and was cased from splitcoaststampers.  Sorry i don't know who made it.
I hope you enjoy looking and please come back again :)

Birthdays

Here are some birthday cards i made for my sister, my husband and my brother-in-law. :)

Christmas Card Class

Well i am finally getting around to posting these cards that we made in the Christmas card class i held.  Some of these cards were partly cased, but I can't tell you who made them or where i seen them unfortunately other than the pretty in pink, bashful blue and certainly celery snowflake card was from Julie.

Happy Birthday!!

Happy birthday to my wonderful sister-in-law.  We celebrated her birthday last night.  It was supposed to be celebrated on Saturday, unfortunately she got the flu :(  At least we got to celebrate last night with some yummy chinese food and great company. :)  Here is what i made for her.  I am really excited about how it turned out, and to be able to share it with you :)  This was actually cased from Crystal  and she has a tutorial you can follow as well to see how it was put together.

For this gift card holder i used whisper white and pumpkin pie cardstock and wild wasabi, pumpkin pie, summer sun, pink pirouette and basic brown for the ink.  I also used the greenhouse gala dsp.  For stamps i used Afterthoughts, Well Scripted and Eastern Blooms.

I used the modern label to punch out where the card fits in (although if i had it i would have used the word window punch) and the decorative label punch on the front.

I added some green satin ribbon to hold it all together.  I hope you enjoy making it as much as i did.  P.S.  The birthday girl was pretty impressed as well :)

Christmas Card Class Sneak Preview

I am hosting a Christmas Card class on Dec 8 and here is one of the 5 cards the ladies will be making. :)  It is similar to a swap i had posted on here a little while ago, but with a few changes. :)  I used Real Red, Old Olive and Chocolate Chip cardstock.  The same colors for ink plus Blush Blossom and Pretty in Pink.  I used Merry Moments Dsp and the stamps are All Holidays and Jolly Old Saint Nick.  I used the Snowflake punch and the Decorative Label punch and added a glimmer brad :)

Wow..what a busy time of year this is :)

I have been busy making christmas cards and even a few birthday cards.  My husband's birthday was in November and here is the card I created for him.  I really like the stamp set :)  For this card i used Close to Cocoa, Peach Parfait and Whisper White cardstock.  I used the same colors plus Poppy Parade and Elegant Eggplant for the ink.  The stamp set is called Sweet Scoops from last years summer mini.  I added some close to cocoa ribbon and some orange brads i had from michael's.  I really like how it turned out; plain, yet cute :)

Happy Halloween!!!

So i wanted to do something a little special for my nephews and some friends kids, so here is what i came up with. :)  I have one more little witch to do and then i can give them out on sunday :)  For these tags i used perfect plum, pumpkin pie, basic black and very vanilla cardstock with the Fang-Tastic stamp set.  I think they turned out really cute.  I used the small cello bags and the oval punch.  The tag punch and square and the ribbon are not stampin' up products unfortunately.  The punches are creative memories and the ribbon was from a dollar store or something like that. oh well, you have to work with what you have.  Happy Halloween everyone!!!

Swaps are here!!

I was recently involved in a swap for the new holiday mini catty and here is the card that i came up with. I used pear pizzazz and poppy parade for the ink and the cardstock and a cute christmas (wood #120825 or clear #121133) for the stamp set.  I used some crystal effects (#101055) on the trees to make them pop.  I also used the designer label (#119862) and modern label (#119849) punches.  The final touch was the real red 1/8" taffeta ribbon (119251) tied in a bow.  I will be posting the swaps very soon, so stay tuned :)

Happy Wedding day!

I made this card at the last minute, of course.  ha ha..anyway i like the idea of it, but also think i could probably do something to improve it a bit.  My favorite part is the paper rose :)  i wanted to do a bouquet of them, but i would have to make them a lot smaller for that.  This card was made with real red, basic black and whisper white.  The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes #115370 and was stamped in craft whisper white ink.  Everything is SU except the rhinestones, brad and the embossing folder, Divine Swirls.  The second picture i tried to get a good picture of the flower.  My upline Julie has a tutorial for making them.
